Question for Venezuelans regarding U.S citizenship?

I was born in venezuela (im 27) and recently became a U.S citizen. I would like to travel there, (haven't been there in 7 years, never traveled back) but I've heard that you need a venezuelan pport to get thru customs. The problem is that I changed my whole name so it no longer matches my venezuelan papers. Can I just use my U.S pport and tell them that I never had a venezuelan cedula or something similar? I'm planning to arrive at valencia btw...
